Due to injuries Dawid Kownacki missed 19 games this season. "I have had some breaks from playing. It surely decelerates my progress," explained Lechs young forward looking back at the tough, but also successful year.
Kownacki will remember the previous year positively. In December 2 years passed since he debuted in Ekstraklasa. During the time he has been a part of the senior team he already won the championship. "Because of the injuries it has been a tough year for me. Every time I got back into form, I was out again. Everything had to be started from the very beginning. Nonetheless, it has been a successful year too. I won the championship, Super Cup and even got to play in the final of the Polish Cup," highlighted Lech's player who was not only successful as a part of the team, but also individually.
In June the 18 year-old travelled to the National Team's grouping. However, because of an injury the youngster couldn't debut in the senior team. "The sole opportunity to train with such players is a great recognition for me and a motivation to keep on working hard. The last year was hectic, full of ranging emotions. Its been filled with a lot of joy, but also some hard moments," said the forward.
The main aim for the upcoming year is to avoid injuries, but also to celebrate with Lech further successes. "A few league matches ago people were sure we were out of the fight for the championship. 6 wins in a row changed the situation," explained Kownacki. "We cannot think too far, we have to focus on the upcoming games. There are 9 rounds to go and then the play-offs. Anything can happen, but we remain calm, which doesnt alter the fact that our goal is to defend the championship," summed up the 18 year-old.
