Lech Poznan continues the unsuccessful run of matches without a win. In the 27th league game of the season, the team from Poznan drew 0:0 with Korona Kielce.
The first half of the match held at Suzuki Arena wasn’t rich in scoring chances. Korona had more shots on target in their statistics than the team from Poznan. The hosts fired their first shot at Lech’s goal in the 4th minute when Kovacevic received the ball inside the box but failed to send it past Buric and into the net. It took Korona another 14 minutes to build the next scoring chance. This time Rymaniak attempted to surprise Buric with a shot from outside the box, but it was off target.
Lech rarely attempted to counterattack, therefore most of their goal-scoring opportunities came from set pieces. Gajos converted one of those into a strong cross that his teammates were waiting to tap into the net, however, Korona’s defenders cleared the threat. 2 minutes later, the hosts attacked once again. Forbes had two chances to score for the hosts, one of which ended with a shot off target, and the other was successfully saved by Buric.
Korona dominated the opening minutes of the second half and created a couple of goal-scoring opportunities, but none of them were successfully finished. In the 53rd minute, Radut decided for an individual run, however, his shot was imprecise. Korona responded with Rymaniak’s attempt from the 59th minute, but the Polish player’s shot slammed off the wall. The hosts were visibly determined to win points, hence they kept on attacking intensely. In the 68th minute, Arveladze had the perfect chance to score a crucial goal, but similarly to his previous attempts, his shot was off target.
In the 75 minute, Lech finally started taking control over the game thanks to two substitutions – Jozwiak and Jevtic appeared on the pitch, making a big difference for the team from Poznan. However, neither of the players managed to place the ball in the back of the net, therefore the game ended with a scoreless draw and the two teams were forced to share points.
