Kamiński debuted in national team

On Sunday evening, Lech’s homegrown player Jakub Kamiński debuted in the Polish National Team. The winger was a part of the starting line-up for the clash with San Marino (7:1). Kamiński became the 66th Lech Poznań player to represent the country and the third youngest to do so.

Kamiński has already received a call-up for the senior Polish National Team in the past – back in October, when Jerzy Brzęczek was still the coach of the national team, however, the youngster suffered an injury which made it impossible for him to debut. During this international break, the winger was supposed to join the Polish U-21 squad but because of numerous injuries in the senior team, Paulo Sousa decided to call up the 19-year-old.

On Sunday evening, Kamiński appeared in his match for the senior Polish National Team. No doubt that the debut was a successful one – Poland beat San Marino 7:1 whilst the youngster got a spot in the starting line-up and stayed on the pitch until the final whistle.

The Sunday match made Kamiński the third youngest Lech Poznań player to debut for Poland at the age of 19 years and 3 months. Only Mirosław Okoński (18 years, 11 months and 4 days) and Karol Linetty (18 years, 11 months ad 16 days) were younger than the winger when they made their first appearances for Poland whilst also representing Lech.

Kamiński is also the 66th Lech Poznań player to compete for the Poland National Team. The last footballer to debut for the red-and-white whilst representing Lech was Tymoteusz Puchacz – he played his first game for Poland in spring 2021, a friendly against Russia (1:1).

San Marino - Poland 1:7 (0:4)

Goals: Nanni (48.) - Lewandowski (4., 21.), Świderski (16.), Linetty (44.), Adam Buksa (67., 90., 90+3)

Poland: Wojciech Szczęsny (46. Łukasz Skorupski) - Kamil Piątkowski, Michał Helik, Tomasz Kędziora - Jakub Kamiński, Damian Szymański, Karol Linetty (79. Przemysław Frankowski), Jakub Moder (46. Bartosz Slisz), Tymoteusz Puchacz (66. Nicola Zalewski) - Karol Świderski, Robert Lewandowski (46. Adam Buksa)
