Kamil Jozwiak made his debut for the Polish National Team. The Poles beat Slovenia 3:2 in the last Euro 2020 qualifying match and Lech’s homegrown player appeared on the pitch in the closing minutes.
Kamil Jozwiak was called up for the senior national team for the first time this November. Although he spent the first few days of the international break with the younger Polish squad, he was then asked to join his senior teammates.
The Poles have already won the Euro 2020 qualifying group a few weeks ago, hence all the remaining matches could be treated as training games. After beating Israel, the Polish squad also managed to win against Slovenia 3:2 following goals from Szymanski, Lewandowski, and Goralski. All three goals were spectacular, but the team’s captain earned a special recognition since he hit the back of the net following a brilliant individual run.
In the 86th minute, Kamil Jozwiak appeared on the pitch when the coach decided to take Szymanski off. The substitution enabled the young midfielder to debut in the Polish National Team and become the 61st Lech Poznan player to represent Poland. Jozwiak joined his teammates on the field when they were already winning, however he was very active in the closing minutes of the game. The debut is a perfect reward for Jozwiak’s great performances over the past few months.
Goals: Sebastian Szymański (3.), Robert Lewandowski (54.), Jacek Góralski (81.) - Tim Matavž (14.), Josip Iličić (61.)
Poland: Wojciech Szczęsny – Łukasz Piszczek (45. Tomasz Kędziora), Kamil Glik (7. Artur Jędrzejczyk), Jan Bednarek, Arkadiusz Reca – Sebastian Szymański (86. Kamil Jóźwiak), Jacek Góralski, Grzegorz Krychowiak, Piotr Zieliński, Kamil Grosicki – Robert Lewandowski
