Kamil Jóźwiak, Lech Poznań midfielder, was chosen the league’s best Youth Player of February. The 21-year-old is the first youngster to win this title in 2020, and he is also the second homegrown player of Lech Poznań to receive this recognition.
Ever since the 2019/20 season kicked off, Jóźwiak has been delivering strong, consistent performances again and again. In February, the midfielder appeared in four league games during which not only did he score (see the clash with Cracovia), but also added an assist (in the match against Raków). His football cleverness is reflected in the statistics – in the past few games, Jóźwiak tried dribbling past his opponent 36 times with a 78% success. In addition, in the recent 3 out of 4 league rounds, the youngster has been named a part of the league’s best XI.
In the race for the Youth Player of the Month award, Jóźwiak overtook his teammate, Jakub Moder, and Wisła Cracow’s youngster Aleksander Buksa. It’s a first for the 21-year-old, however, Jóźwiak isn’t the only Lech Poznań player to win this award - in July last year, Robert Gumny also received this recognition.
