Darko Jevtić is going to be the new team captain of Lech’s senior squad. The decision was taken at the end of the pre-season camp which was held in Opalenica.
The 26-year-old midfielder joined Lech in June 2014, which makes him the most experienced player in the senior squad. Jevtic was given the captain armband in the last couple of training matches and during a democratic team vote, his colleagues decided they wanted the Swiss player to be their permanent leader.
So far, whilst representing the club from Poznan, the Swiss footballer appeared in 172 matches, scored 31 goals, and got 38 assists. In 2015, he won the Polish Championship and Polish Super Cup together with his teammates. During the democratic team vote, apart from choosing a captain, the squad also appointed team council which, from now on, will be made of Thomas Rogne, Mickey van der Hart, Kamil Jozwiak, and Robert Gumny.
