Kami Jakóbczyk, Lech’s Younger Juniors striker, signed his first professional contract with Lech Poznań. The agreement will be valid until 2025. “Kamil is an offensive player who can be positioned as a striker or no. 10. He is very mobile, likes one-on-one clashes with the defenders, and can be a tough player to mark because of his confidence and courage,” emphasized Zbigniew Zakrzewski who works for Lech Poznań Academy.
The 15-year-old has been representing Lech since the start of the 2022/2023 season – that’s when he joined the Poznań academy from Hutnik Cracow. Previously, he trained with various Lesser Poland teams, among them Wisła Cracow, Staniątki Football School, and Football Academy Wieliczka. At his previous club, Jakóbczyk made an official debut for the U-15 Polish National Team and at the Central Junior League level (U-17) where he has been playing ever since, but now in the blue-and-white shirt.
So far in the Younger Juniors team, Jakóbczyk scored 6 goals throughout the autumn round. Although the youngster is competing against one-year older colleagues, it’s nothing new to him. According to the player, it’s the only way to develop and progress as a player. “I have already played against older footballers in spring, back at Hutnik Cracow. I learned how to play faster, which paid off when I joined Lech. It’s a perfect club for me to develop at because I play alongside the best players in Poland. Over the past few months, I have realized as well that the coaches’ experience and skills have also enabled me to make a step forward in my professional development,” explained the 15-year-old.
“Kamil is an offensive player who can be positioned as a striker or no. 10. He is very mobile, likes one-on-one clashes with the defenders, and can be a tough player to mark because of his confidence and courage. He does a lot of work for the team and plays a role in the defense which makes him a very useful player,” highlighted Zbigniew Zakrzewski, who works for Lech Poznań Academy.
