Lech Poznań players were given a day off on Monday before the team resumes training ahead of the Sunday league clash with Śląsk Wrocław (5:30 PM). Despite having the chance to get some rest, many players had to show up for medical examinations.
In the recent match against Wisła Płock (0:1) we saw Tomasz Dejewski and Antonio Milić form the centre-back duo. As all other defenders were missing due to injuries, Lech Poznań had to quickly register their youngster Patryk Waliś in the league competition to secure the position. However, fortunately, the situation has improved since then. Thomas Rogne and Bartosz Salamon underwent an ultrasound that revealed they were ready to rejoin the rest of the squad for training sessions,” said professor Krzysztof Pawlaczyk, the Head of Medical Staff at Lech Poznań.
Lubomir Šatka is also slowly approaching a full recovery. The centre-back has been struggling with an ankle injury since the training camp in Belek, Turkey. The Slovak has been training individually and in the past few days, he also began running. Now he awaits green light to rejoin his teammates. However, one thing’s for sure – the coaching staff will have more players at disposal than they did for the game with Wisła Płock.
Following the final whistle in the Sunday match, Filip Szymczak and Filip Marchwiński notified the staff of health problems. The two Academy youngsters showed up today to medical examinations which ruled out a serious injury. “In both cases, it’s just an abrasion. On Tuesday, they will have a lighter training session and then they will resume normal practices,” explained Pawlaczyk.
When it comes to the offence, Aron Johannsson’s registration in the league competition should be completed by now. In the second half of this week, the coaches will know whether Mikael Ishak is at their disposal again. The Swedish striker will undergo medical exams on Thursday to see whether he is ready to play again.
