Christian Gytkjaer received another call-up from the Danish national team. During the recent international break, the striker scored his first goal for Denmark in a Euro qualifier against Switzerland.
Hareide’s squad has only begun the qualifications for Euro 2020. Their first rival on the way to the European tournament was Switzerland. Gytkjaer was initially sat on the bench however, in the 70th minute, the coach sent Lech’s forward in for Jorgensen. The scoreboard showed a two-goal lead for the Swiss team and shortly after Gytkjaer appeared on the pitch, the Danish national team conceded the third goal.
Nonetheless, the Danes rose up to the challenge and performed incredibly in the closing minutes. They began scoring in the 84th minute and successfully won a draw. Gytkjaer was especially active and even managed to place the ball in the net, for the first time whilst wearing the Danish shirt. It was the striker’s 5th cap.
