Lech Poznan won with Gornik in Zabrze 6:1 one round before the end of the league. Kasper Hamalainen (twice), Szymon Pawlowski, Zaur Sadajew and Darko Jevtic (twice) scored the goals for Lech. The team from Poznan is really close to winning the championship.
A round ahead of the league's final Lech could have guaranteed itself the title of the championship. For that to happen Lech had to collect all three points in Zabrze, while Legia was supposed to lose in Gdansk with Lechia.
The match began with the hosts' attack which soon resulted in the change of the result. In the 5th minute Nowak received a pass just in front of the penalty area and gave no chance to Gostomski with a massive and accurate shot right into the corner of the goal. It was a well deserved goal for Gornik who had been pressing on Lech since the very first whistle. Both Kedziora and Douglas were easily passed by Gornik's offensive players, however until Nowak's shot, Gornik did not have good opportunities to score a goal. Lech was determined to equalize as soon as possible. Tralka tried shooting from a distance, Kaminski tried heading the ball in the net, but until the 9th minute the result remained unchanged. However, soon after Pawlowski was the one to finish a great team action and his techincal, accurate shot brought Lech back into the game. The tie wasn't satisfactory for Lech and the players from Poznan aimed at another goal. In the 12th minute Kedziora sent the ball flying to Hamalainen over the defenders' heads and the Finnish forward finished the action perfectly. Nonetheless, Lech's attack did not stop. Soon after it was 3:1 for Lech. Again it Hamalainen who placed the ball in the net. It was a long time since Lech's fans last time saw their team play as well as they did on the Wednesday evening. With a two-goal advantage the team from Poznan focused in the news from Gdansk. They remained attacking and they succeeded once again in the 30th minute. This time it was Sadajew's massive shot which changed the result and Gornik's goalkeeper had to take the ball out of the net for the forth time that night.
Lech's performance in the first half only proved that the team from Poznan deserved to be the leader of the league. Thanks to the benefitial result, Skorza could make subtitutions to save the energy of the players whom we wanted to use in the least league match of the season. Darko Jevtic was the first subtitute to appear on the pitch. Th image of the game did not change much in the second half. Lech remained controlling the play and in the 58th minute the fifth goal was noted down. Pawlowski's center was too strong for Sadajew to finish it, however Jevtic turned the result to 5:1 with an accurate shot into the net. The sixth goal was scored in the injury time by Jevtic who had no trouble placing the ball in the net after he received a pass from Pawlowski. It was a well-deserved win for Lech who turned out to be better than their rivals and made yet another step towards winning the championship of Poland.
