Gholizadeh called up by Iran
Lech's winger Ali Gholizadeh was called up by the Iranian national team ahead of the upcoming AFC Asian Cup. The tournament will take place in Qatar, between January 12th and February 10th.
It is the winger's first call-up since he joined Lech Poznań. However, Gholizadeh already has plenty of experience in the international arena - in his 30 caps, the player scored 6 goals and assisted his teammates 4 times.
27 footballers were named a part of Iran's tournament squad. In the group phase of the AFC Asian Cup, the Middle East side will face Palestine (January 14th), Hong Kong (January 19th), and the United Arab Emirates (January 23rd).
