Paweł Tomczyk, Miłosz Mleczko, Tymoteusz Puchacz and Jakub Moder will return to Lech from loan at the end of the current season.
All four mentioned footballers have spent the past season on loan in various Polish clubs - Mleczko represented Puszcza Niepolomice, Moder played for Odra Opole, whereas Puchacz first competed for Zaglebie Sosnowiec, and then moved to GKS Katowice. Meanwhile, Tomczyk spent the last 6 months at Piast Gliwice. Following the end of the current season, all four will rejoin Lech’s first team.
“We are glad to have Tomczyk, Mleczko, Puchacz, and Moder join first team’s pre-season preparations. All four have performed really well throughout their loans and made big progress,” explained Tomasz Rzasa, Lech’s Sporting Director.
It’s worth emphasizing that three out of four players were on loan at lower-division clubs – a tactic that has often been employed by Lech in the past years. “It’s a strategy we have already tested. The likes of Jozwiak and Gumny spent some time in lower-division clubs and then returned to the club and strengthened the first team. We are hoping that the four mentioned footballers will also play a key role in Lech’s senior team in the upcoming years,” said Rzasa.
20-year-old Milosz Mleczko was sent on loan to Puszcza Niepolomice where he competed for a spot in the starting line-up with another homegrown player of Lech Poznan – Bartosz Przybysz. In total, Mleczko appeared in Puszcza’s goal 35 times and managed to keep a clean sheet in 11 matches. Whilst playing in the second division, the goalkeeper had an opportunity to compete against Moder who represented Odra Opole. The latter appeared on the pitch 35 times during the loan, scored 4 goals and assisted his teammates twice.
Meanwhile, Puchacz began the season at Zaglebie Sosnowiec where he appeared in two Ekstraklasa matches. However, just as the transfer window was coming to an end, he was sent on loan to GKS Katowice – a second-division team – where he played in 27 games, scored 4 goals, and got 3 assists. Before Puchacz returns to Lech to fight for a place in the senior squad, he and Mleczko will play for U-20 Polish National Team in the upcoming World Cup which is hosted by Poland.
Tomczyk was the last player to be sent on loan. During the winter transfer window, he joined Piast Gliwice. Although he only played 49 minutes in total during the past few months, he did score 2 goals which helped Piast win the Championship title. Therefore, the young player is returning to Poznan with a gold medal.
