Lech Poznań scored six goals from outside the box in the last eight matches. Unfortunately, Jesper Karlstrom’s beautiful goal in the clash with Widzew Łódź (1:3) did not give Lech the desired points, however, it was the Swede’s fourth successful attempt for the club from Poznań.
75% of Jesper's goals while wearing Lech’s shirt were from a distance. Aside from the impressive attempt in Lech’s last league game, the Swede also found the back of the net from outside the box in the matches against Pogoń Szczecin (2:2), and Puszcza Niepołomice (4:1). In the season 2021/2022, the Swedish midfielder also beat Górnik Łęczna’s keeper (3:0) but this goal was scored from inside the penalty area.
In the 2021/2022 Championship season, Maciej Skorża’s squad played 40 games and scored eight times from outside the box. In the following campaign, Lech competed in 56 matches and found the back of the net 15 times from a distance. The team from Poznań has a shot at beating this record in the current season – so far, Lech played 21 games and already has eight goals from outside the box in their account. The statistics are looking good as a result of the last few league rounds; the beginning of the season didn’t bear many goals from a distance (only 2, thanks to Radosław Murawski and Kristoffer Velde), however, ever since the clash with Puszcza Niepołomice (4:1), Jesper Karlström (twice), Mikael Ishak (twice), Kristoffer Velde, and Filip Wilak all found the back of the net from outside the box. However, Karlström’s beautiful shot in the last league game wasn't much of a consolation considering that it was Widzew Łódź who triumphed.
