On Tuesday Lech’s defender Alan Czerwiński signed a new contract with the club. The experienced player’s new agreement will last until June 30th, 2025. The deal also includes an extension clause.
The 29-year-old first reached an agreement with Lech in January 2020 but he only joined the team from Poznań 6 months later. The initial contract would last only until June 2023.
“We have extended our agreement for another two years, that is until June 2025. There is also an option to extend the deal for another 12 months,” explained Tomasz Rząsa, Lech’s Sporting Director, after signing the new contract with Czerwiński. “Alan is an experienced Polish player who proved numerous times on the pitch his worth. He is most often positioned as a right-back, but he is also capable of playing in various different positions. He is yet another player whose contract we are extending which shows that we strive towards and value stability in the squad,” added Rząsa.
Earlier in autumn, the club extended contracts with Antonio Milic, Nika Kvekveskiri, Mikael Ishak, and Michał Skóraś.
“I am very happy to be staying in Poznań. It’s a truly fantastic team, with amazing fans, and a great coach. All of these things have impacted my decision [to extend the contract]. We have been speaking to the club management for a long while, but, paradoxically, in the end, we worked out an agreement very fast,” explained the 29-year-old.
For far, Alan has made 67 appearances for Lech, scored 3 times, and added 7 assists. “Over the past two years, I have evolved into a different, better player. However, I believe I still have a lot I can give to the team,” highlighted the defender who has been fighting for a spot in the starting line-up with Joel Pereira. “At every club, there is internal rivalry and if someone isn’t up to it, they shouldn’t join a club like Lech. I am ready for it and can’t wait for new challenges,” summarized Czerwiński.
