Tomasz Cywka will play for Lech from now on. The player signed a 2-year contract with the club from Poznan. The agreement includes the possibility of extension for an extra year.
The 29-year old is a versatile footballer that can play as a right-back and a defensive midfielder. For the past 3 years, Cywka competed for Wisla Cracow where he played in 86 matches. Previously, the footballer spent 8 years in English clubs such as Wigan Athletic, Derby County, and Reading.
“He is a versatile footballer who can play on the position of a right-back and a midfielder. We have been observing him for a while now, even back when he played in Championship. Cywka is a Pole with a strong personality, immunity to stress, and the ability to deal with the kind of pressure players experience in Poznan,” explained Tomasz Wichniarek, the Scouting Director.
Cywka is an experienced footballer. He appeared in 113 Championship matches during which he scored 15 goals and got 13 assists. “He is prepared tactically and technically. I am sure that he will influence positively the rivalry in the squad,” added Scouting Director.
The player himself is excited about the awaiting challenges. “Lech is a strong, recognizable Polish brand. When I received an offer from the club, it didn’t take me long to make the decision. I talked to a couple of people who ensured me that joining Lech is the right thing to do. I am happy to begin a new chapter in my football career and I cannot wait to play the first match,” said the new transfer.
Cywka is the first player to join Lech during this summer transfer window. On Thursday, he will join the rest of the team as they start preparing for the upcoming season.
