Brighton Hove & Albion FC have decided to recall Jakub Moder from loan to Lech Poznań. As a result, the clash with Wisła Cracow was the midfielder’s last match for his home club. Starting January, the 21-year-old will be wearing Brighton’s shirt and competing in the Premier League.
At the beginning of the 2020/2021 season, Jakub Moder was sold to Brighton Hove & Albion FC – a Premier League side that is currently ranked 16th in the league table. However, the English side simultaneously loaned the midfielder to Lech until the end of the season, with the option to recall their new player in the winter transfer window. Brighton decided they wanted to bolster midfield options and made use of the clause in the contract, hence the 21-year-old will already be playing for the English side since January.
The Saturday clash with Wisła Cracow was Moder’s official farewell and his last game wearing Lech’s shirt. The midfielder appeared in 56 matches for the Poznań-based club, scored 9 goals, and got 9 assists.
“I owe a lot to Lech – I joined the club at the age of 15 and spent 6 years here, first at the Academy, and then the senior team. I was born and raised in Greater Poland and have been a big fan of the club since I was a kid. It was my dream to play for Lech and making it come true has been an amazing feeling. The past 6 years were incredible and I will never forget the time I spent here. I am sure that I will be recalling all the great memories I made at Lech often and I will visit Poznań regularly to see my friends. And, of course, I am going to keep my fingers crossed for Lech. I am hoping that one day I will get to play for Lech again,” said Jakub Moder.
Good luck in the Premier League, Kuba!
