On Sunday afternoon, Lech beat Górnik Zabrze 2:1, despite the team from Silesia scoring first. As a result, for the first time in 59 matches, the side from Poznań managed to turn the tables in a home game. The last time Lech successfully turned around the score at Bułgarska street was in November 2018.
This season, Skorża’s team has already shown that they are capable of bouncing back and winning matches that initially don’t go according to plan. However, it's only when playing away games that the club from Poznań shows their resilience. Meanwhile, so far this season, when competing at home, Lech did manage to equalise after being down by one goal – for instance, in this year’s clash with Pogoń Szczecin which ended in a draw (1:1) – but they never won a match in which they conceded a goal first.
This changed on Sunday afternoon. Górnik Zabrze scored in the first half thanks to a successful attempt from Jesus Jimenez. Nika Kvekveskiri went on to equalize with a beautiful shot from outside the box before the referee announced halftime. Finally, in the 99th minute, Antonio Milić scored a goal worth 3 league points.
The last time that the team from Poznań turned the tables in a home game was a very long time ago – to be exact, on November 24th, 2018, when Żuraw’s side beat Wisła Płock 2:1, despite their opponent scoring first, thanks to goals from Darko Jevtić and Christian Gytkjaer.
