In the second sparing match of the pre-season Lech Poznan won with Olimpia Grudziadz 2:1. Kownacki scored both goals for the team from Poznan.
The first half did not go too well for the current Champion of Poland, even though no one would have predicted so following the opening minutes of the game. Kebba Ceesay was the one to initiate the first offensive action, but Dawid Kownacki failed to convert his cross into a goal. 2 minutes later Szymon Pawlowski had a chance of his own, but his shot was inaccurate and the ball did not fall into the back of the net.
Soon after the guests began to dominate the play. Paul Grischok, the former representative of Widzew Lodz, was active on the left wing and he was the first one to cause trouble to Lech's goalkeeper. Before 29th minute Donald Djousse tried surprising Gostomski too, however it was Piter-Bucko that scored the first goal in that match. Chaos near Lech's goal and goalkeeper's hesitant intervention created an opportunity for Piter-Bucko and the player had no problems placing the ball into the net.
However, Lech managed to equalize just before halftime. It was Dawid Kownacki that converted Marcin Roba's offensive action into an equalizer. During halftime coach Skorza made 4 changes in the lineup. Mateusz Lis came in for Gostomski, Denis Thomalla for Marcin Robak, Barry Douglas for Szymon Pawlowski while David Holman was a substitute for Karol Linetty.
The changes brought an immediate result. Although Barry Douglas was placed on an unusual position for him - left wing - he was very active throughout the whole second half. In 46th minute the Scottish player found himself one-on-one with the goalkeeper, but the linesman raised his flag signalizing an offside. Also known as "Basher", the Scot did eventually change the result of the match by sending a perfect cross right onto Kownacki's head and the latter put Lech on the lead.
Following the third goal the match became more balanced and neither of the teams had many more goal attempts. In the 78th minute Holman scared the rivals with a strong shot from outside the penalty area, however the ball stopped on the crossbar. The result remained unchanged until the very last whistle and Lech added another win to its pre-season account.
