The match against Jagiellonia Bialystok will be the opening game of the microcycle during which Lech will face 3 different rivals within 7 days. “It’s another one-week long microcycle, however, what makes it different is that we have 3 matches to play, not just one. Nonetheless, our approach remains the same. We have been in similar situations before numerous times,” explained Karol Bartkowiak, Lech’s assistant coach.
During the upcoming week, Lech will face Jagiellonia, Legia Warsaw, and Pogon Szczecin. Only one of those matches the team from Poznan will get to play in front of their home crowd – against the squad from the capital. “It’s another one-week long microcycle, however, what makes it different is that we have 3 matches to play, not just one. Nonetheless, our approach remains the same. We have been in similar situations before numerous times,” explained Karol Bartkowiak, Lech’s assistant coach.
On Saturday, Lech will be given an opportunity to end the unfortunate run of matches without a point. However, it won’t be easy to achieve since the team from Poznan will face Jagiellonia Bialystok against whom they lost 0:2 the other week. Lech’s coaching staff is aware of the difficulty of the task, however, the goal for the remaining 8 matches of the season is clear.
“The goal for the upcoming games is very simple – we are going to give it all in every single match in order to win all the remaining games of the season. We are currently ranked 8th hence every time we win points, we will increase our chances of climbing up the table,” added coach Bartkowiak.
Before the intense microcycle of 3 games within a week begins, the team from Poznan have a more relaxed few days during which the coaching staff can focus on fitness and motoric training.
“As the coaching staff, we are dissatisfied with our performance in the most recent match. Jagiellonia did not dominate the game for the whole 90 minutes; there were periods when we played well and although we must see the positive bits, we can’t forget to pinpoint all the things we did wrong and work on improving them. In the next games, we are going to face rivals that are ranked higher in the table than we are. Every win is going to be a reason to rejoice and hopefully, good performances will motivate and fuel the players,” concluded the assistant coach.
