Maciej Gostomskis adventure with Lech Poznań began in an outstanding way. Bought from the second-league Bytovia, the goalkeeper has kept a clean sheet in his three first matches. No goalkeeper in Lechs history has achieved something so remarkable on the level of Ekstraklasa.
Henryk Skromny, Marian Wilczyński, Henryk Wittig, Andrzej Turek, Piotr Mowlik, Zbigniew Pleśnierowicz, Ryszard Jankowski, Kazimierz Sidorczuk these are only some of the names of Lechs greatest goalkeepers. The only one who achieved anything close to Gostomskis success was Turek.
The homegrown player of Polonia Leszno managed to keep his sheet clean in his first three appearances in the Ekstraklasa. It was back in the 1973 when he stopped the players of Górnik Zabrze (at the end of the season 72/73), Pogoń Szczecin and ŁKS Łódź (at the beginning of the season 73/74). But it wasnt Tureks first achievement of that kind; he also didnt concede a goal in three matches playing in the lower league. At the beginning of the season 71/72 he kept the sheet clean against Arka Gdynia, Urania Ruda Śląsk and Hutnik Kraków. A year before, when Lech was still playing in the former third league, Turek had his debut in the colors of the team from Poznań.
