Lech’s winger Joao Amaral will represent FC Paços de Ferreira for the next 6 months. The Portuguese decided to join the club on loan due to a difficult family situation.
Amaral has 47 appearances for Lech on his account, including 13 goals and 10 assists. In addition, the Portuguese winger got to play for the reserves once throughout his span at Lech. The sole reason for his departure is a difficult family situation.
“I have personal issues regarding my family. Moreover, my fiancée is pregnant and she is due in April. It’s a difficult situation for me because I cannot stay focused, concentrate on playing well, nor give it all for the team, even though I really want to,” said Amaral.
“I hope that everyone understands that I needed to make this decision. It hasn’t been an easy one but I believe that it’s the best I can do for myself and the club. No one wants a player that gives only 50% of what he’s capable of. I genuinely hope that people will understand how hard it’s been for me and that I am sad to leave. I cannot fully concentrate on the game and, therefore, I am struggling,” added the player.
The 28-year-old footballer born in Vila Nova de Gaia joined Lech in sumer 2018. Previously, he represented the likes of CD Candal, SC Mirandela, Vitória Setúbal, as well as SL Benfica. The winger will spent the next 6 months back in his home country. Amaral will represent FC Paços de Ferreira which is currently ranked 17th in Primeira Liga. The Portguese club doesn’t have a buyout option in the contract hence Amaral will return to Poznan in summer and he will most likely continue representing Lech in the next season.
“I’d like to add that I will rejoin the Poznan squad in summer and I am hoping that I will then be fully concentrated and capable of truly helping the team. Thank you for your understanding,” emphasised Amaral.
