Legia's recent season
Hening Berg's team ended the previous league season on the second position. The championship round was unfortunate for the players from the capital because in the 31st round they lost the lead to Lech, who beat their opponents 2:1 in Warsaw. The team from Poznan did not give up the advantage and in the end they were the ones who triumphed, while Legia had to celebrate the silver medal. However, Legia won the Polish Cup last season, and therefore they are the ones whom Lech will face in the fight for the Polish Super Cup on July 10th.
The squad from Warsaw
Multiple players left Legia Warsaw ahead of the upcoming season. The biggest holes to be filled in are in the defense line - Iniaki Astiz and Dossa Junior are to be replaced by the former footballer of Jagiellonia Bialystok, Michal Pazdan. Moreover, among the players that left the team from the capital are the midfielder Helio Pinto and the forward Orlando Sa. In addition, Jakub Kosecki was transferred to SV Sandhausen on a year-long loan. There are two additional players that will fill in the squad - Nemanja Nikolic who plays as the forward and the winger Pablo Dyego.
Performances away from home
In the league season 2014/15 Legia Warsaw managed to collect all three points on the rival's home ground 8 times. 4 times the team from the capital had to share the points, while in 6 cases Hening Berg's players were beaten while performing away from Warsaw. Together with Jagiellonia Bialystok Legia was placed second in the terms of the successes when playing away. Lech remained the leader in this qualifications.
Legia's performance on a foreign home ground were better when competing in the Polish Cup. In the first match of the competition Legia beat Miedz Legnica, while later on they drew with Slask in the quarterfinals and won with Podbeskidzie Bielsko-Biala in the semifinals.
