UEFA's Commission of Control, Ethics and Discipline punished Lech Poznan for the pyrotechnics used in the match against FC Basel with a large fine.
The second fine imposed on Lech this season will cost the club 160 thousand zloty. Earlier on the same commission punished Lech with the closure of INEA Stadium and a sanction of over 200 thousand zloty. The latter was suspended until closer examination due to the club's appeal.
"Thanks to this decision, we have enabled the fans to see the most important match of the past 5 years from the stands," said Lech's chairman, Karol Klimczak. "However, unfortunately the penalty was only suspended, but our cancellation has already been delivered to UEFA, according to the procedures."
UEFA's Commission of Control, Ethics and Discipline started further investigation about Lech fans behavior during the second-leg against FC Basel, which was discordant with the regulations.
