“We know everything about the rival”

“The fact that Lech has never won in Plock before is an additional motivation for us. We’re going there to win and whatever happened 10 years ago is of no importance to us. What counts is the form we’re in and how we’ll play,” said Nenad Bjelica, Lech’s coach.

The past week was marked by a couple of injuries. Tomasz Kedziora, Darko Jevtic and Szymon Pawlowski suffered during the match against Legia Warsaw. The decision whether the three key footballers will play, or not, will be made shortly before the upcoming league match. “Only Szymon did not train with us during the past sessions. Mihai Radut might be the player who’s going to replace Szymon. The Romanian footballer can also play on the left flank and during the game in Szczecin he showed what he’s capable of. We have a bit of time before we need to make the final decision. On Friday we have a normal training session and on Saturday a small warm-up is planned. After that we are going to decide about the starting line-up for the game against Wisla Plock,” explained the coach.

The Croatian coach believes that the loss against Legia is not going to impact the way Lech plays in the upcoming game. “We were frustrated after the match, but that’s normal. It is hard to accept a loss. However, I have seen my team during the training sessions and they are motivated, which means a lot to me. The team wants a revenge and it will happen. However, for now, we are focused on Wisla Plock only and our aim is to win. Next time we’ll have to face Legia, we’ll know exactly how to play against them,” said Bjelica.

The coach seemed optimistic ahead of the Saturday clash with the Lotto Ekstraklasa newcomers. “We know everything about the rival. However, we remain concentrated on ourselves only. If we play at a high level, we’ll have a shot at winning. We need to be as close to perfect as we can. Wisla is a good team, very effective, who’s been winning recently,” explained Bjelica. “Nevertheless, what matters is how we play and I hope this will be a good game for us,” added the coach.
