12 times this season Lech Poznan won with at least a 3-goal advantage. Moreover, 9 of those games ended with a score 3:0. “That indicates our indisputable domination in those matches,” explained Lech’s players.
Last Saturday the league clash between Lech Poznan and Wisla Plock ended with a 3:0 win for the team from Poznan. It was the 5th match this spring which ended with such score. “Our aim isn’t to achieve a three-nil score. However, our goal is to get the best possible result, build as many scoring chances as possible and to score, because that is how you win,” said Maciej Wilusz. “Nonetheless, if you think about it, 3:0 is a satisfactory score for us,” added the defender.
The last couple of games resemble Lech’s great series from November. Back then the team from Poznan had a goal ratio 15:2 after 4 matches. “In every single of those matches we could have scored more goals. It was similar against Wisla Plock. In the second half we were concentrated and focused on keeping control of the match. What counts now are the games that are ahead of us and that’s what we’re focusing,” explained Maciej Makuszewski.
Nevertheless, the recent achievements of the team from Poznan cannot go unnoticed. Winning a game with a 3:0 goal ratio for the 9th time this season is an impressive accomplishment. It indicates that Lech won every fourth game by 3 goals, whilst not conceding one. “I didn’t know that,” laughed Lukasz Tralka. “It’s true, we’ve won a number of matches by 3 goals. That cannot be coincident!”
For Tralka and his teammates it’s not the goal ratio that counts, but the three points. “The fact that we’ve won with such a goal difference so many times proves that it isn’t a coincident. However, we won’t get overly excited. We know how much hard work is still ahead of us,” emphasized Lech’s captain.
