“The match in Zabrze will be a difficult one”

The clash with Gornik Zabrze will be another match against one of the best league teams. In the previous games, the team from Poznan faced clubs which were ranked in the top four last season. Now Lech will play against the current leader of Ekstraklasa.

Last season Lech’s clashes with the top league teams didn't end too well for the players from Poznan. Out of 27 points against the likes of Legia Warsaw, Jagiellonia Bialystok, or Lechia Gdansk, Lech won only 5. However, this season the situation is different. So far the team has already collected 5 points against its toughest rivals (one win, two draws).

“Even though we haven’t lost a single game against one of the top teams, we’ve only won one – against Legia Warsaw. When we look back at those games, we should have won them all,” said Jevtic. “Nonetheless, we cannot focus on the past games and the points we lost. It’s time to analyze our mistakes and concentrate on the upcoming match in Zabrze in order to collect 3 points,” explained the footballer.

Now it’s time for Lech to face Gornik Zabrze – the current leader of Ekstraklasa. Brosz’s team has the best offensive line the league. So far the team from Zabrze scored 30 goals and conceded 21. However, Lech has a much better goal difference with 23 goals scored and 11 conceded.

"Gornik plays good, effective football. Every single game they build multiple scoring chances and convert them into goals. We play similar football and score frequently as well. I believe it will be a great show, however, it won’t be an easy one to win,” emphasized Mihai Radut, Lech’s midfielder.

Christian Gytkjaer, Lech’s forward, had similar observations. The Dane highlighted that Zabrze has been playing great football since the beginning of the season. “If we manage to convert at least half of the scoring chances we had against Wisla Cracow into goals, we will win the match in Zabrze. Of course, the match will be a difficult one because our rival has been performing really well, but our aim remains the same: to win,” explained Gytkjaer.
