“I expect more from myself than what I am currently offering. Both me and the team have a lot more to show than what we have been displaying recently. We believe in all the hard work we do during training sessions. It’s not unusual in football to have a bad period, whether it’s a short one, or a longer one. We aren't giving up, we keep on supporting each other. Whenever we begin to show what we are truly capable of, that’s when we will get the results that are expected of us,” explained Mihai Radut’s, Lech’s Romanian midfielder.
One of Twitter users made an interesting observation that whenever Radut stays on the pitch for longer than 30 minutes, Lech never loses. 8 wins and 2 draws are the team’s results when the Romanian is given more than half-an-hour on the pitch. The midfielder has been told about this interesting statistic, but he doesn’t treat it too seriously.
“I heard about the statistic, but it isn’t important to me. We are going through a rough period and we don’t have as many league points on our account as we should have, considering that we are playing for Lech Poznan. We are under big pressure and that’s something I am ok with because it’s normal. We need to deal with it and meet the expectations of the fans. We are working on our confidence on the pitch and our goal is to be equally concentrated on every aspect of the game; not only when playing and competing in the league, but also in the training sessions. This is the key to success and only if we achieve that, we will perform the way we are expected to,” emphasized the Romanian player.
During the previous matches, Radut has been competing either as no. 6, or no. 8. The first one isn’t the player’s natural position but he was forced to take over the role due to Tralka’s and Cywka’s injuries. “The position I play on isn’t the most important thing for me. All the midfield roles are pretty similar to me and they don’t affect how I feel on the pitch. Now I am usually playing as a defensive midfielder or I am positioned slightly further up the pitch, depending on where the coach wants me and the team needs me,” said the Romanian footballer.
Radut is aware of the criticism he has been receiving. Since he joined Lech Poznan, he only scored one goal, back in May 2016 when he beat Termalica’s goalkeeper. “I am not performing at my best. I have been suffering from a number of small injuries that didn’t allow me to play at my best. During the upcoming break from the matches, I will do my best to get back in shape and show what I am truly capable of. There is still a lot I can offer,” highlighted the Romanian.
