Lech Poznań players who were called up for the Euro 2020 have already finished competing at the tournament. Tymoteusz Puchacz, although still formally a Lech player until July 1st, will not be returning to Bułgarska street. Meanwhile, Lubomir Šatka, who competed at the Euro for Slovakia, will be back in Poznań on July 12th.
After intense few days, Lech’s squad had just one training session on Friday. On Saturday, the team from Poznań will play an internal match. In addition, a few former Academy players visited the club as their holidays began, among them Jakub Moder, Kamil Jóźwiak, and Tymoteusz Puchacz.
Lubomir Šatka will also get a few days off following his appearance at Euro 2020. His national team, similarly to the Polish squad, was eliminated from the tournament in the group phase. Slovakian side collected a total of three points – same as Ukraine which advanced to the next phase of the tournament thanks to a good goal difference.
Lech’s centre-back hasn’t had time to get rest following the end of the 2020/2021 league season as he went straight to his national team grouping. Now he has been given time off to recover. “Lubo has been given two weeks off, he will be back on July 12th. July 10th is the last day of our training camp but since all players will get Sunday off, Lubo was asked to return on Monday. Let’s hope he gets good rest and comes back full of energy ahead of the start of the season,” said Maciej Skorża, Lech’s coach.
