National teams’ schedule – who and when?

Bartosz Mrozek has received his second call-up from Michał Probierz. The goalkeeper joined the Poland’s senior team for the first time back in September, but he didn’t make it into the match squad for the clash with Scotland (3:2) and Croatia (0:1). However, this time it might be different since Bartłomiej Drągowski is injured and Poland’s coach recently announced that he would be implementing rotation in this position. In October, the white-and-red team will play two Nations League games – against Portugal and Croatia.

Alex Douglas will also be joining his national team. The defender has been performing impressively for Lech, hence the call-up from Jon Dahl Tomasson isn’t a surprise. During the previous international break, Douglas appeared against Azerbaijan (3:1) and Estonia (3:0). This time, Sweden will be facing Slovakia and, once again, Estonia in Nations League matches. Douglas and his teammates have a maximum number of points thus far, therefore they have a shot at returning to League B.

The Iranian national team has also been playing well – they began the second stage of World Cup qualifiers with two wins, against Kirgizstan (1:0) and UAE (1:0). Ali Gholizadeh appeared on the pitch in both matches and he also received a call-up for the upcoming clashes with Uzbekistan and Qatar. Only the top 2 teams in the group will qualify for the World Cup.

The Polish U-21 squad has an important match ahead of them. In September, the team won against Bulgaria (3:1), therefore they still have a chance at being one of the three best teams which are ranked second in their group. However, in order for that to happen, they need to beat Kosovo and Germany. Filip Szymczak and Antoni Kozubal have been called up for the two games.

Meanwhile, the Polish U-19 squad is beginning their qualifications for the European Championship. Coach Wojcich Kobeszko called up Michał Gurgul who received the captain’s armband during the recent friendly tournament in Slovenia. The Poles will fight against Malta, Gibraltar, and Turkiye for a spot at the European Championship. Their younger, 18-year-old colleagues will play a two-leg friendly against Switzerland. Igor Brzyski, Wojciech Mońka and Mateusz Pruchniewski have joined the U-18 squad for the trip to Lausanne.

6 Lech Poznań youngsters received a call-up from the U-17 coach and similarly to their two-year older colleagues, they will also begin the European Championship qualifications. Karol Delikat, Sammy Dudek, Jakub Falkiewicz, Tymoteusz Gmur, Patryk Prajsnar and Eryk Śledziński will have an opportunity to show their skills against Armenia, Georgia, and Slovenia. The two best teams will advance to the next stage of the qualifiers.

Meanwhile, the U-16 squad is scheduled to play a two-leg friendly in Berlin. Aleksander Klimkiewicz, Hubert Janyszka and Piotr Bartczak have joined their team for the upcoming games. Their younger colleagues - Aleks Olsztyn, Karol Wędrychowicz, Marcel Mrowiński and Wojciech Orzechowski – were called up for the Development tournament in which the U-15 squad will face Montenegro, Latvia, and Luxembourg.

Julia Przybył is the first Lech Poznań UAM player to join the Polish national team at a World Cup. Przybył made it into the squad for the upcoming U-17 tournament played in the Dominican Republic. The Poles will compete against Japan, Zambia, and Brazil in the group stage.
