In the 24th round of T-Mobile Ekstraklasa Lech lost in Bydgoszcz with Zawisza 0:1. For nearly 70 minutes the team from Poznan played only with 10 men, as Arnaud Djoum received a red card.
Since the beginning the hosts were trying to control the play, while Lech waited patiently for a chance to counterattack. However, the first 15 minutes showed how solid both defense lines are - the offensives had difficulties creating chances. In the 18th minute Zaur Sadajew dribbled past two defenders, however he did not beat the goalkeeper. In the 23rd minute coach Maciej Skorza was forced to make the first substitution. Tamas Kadar came in for the injured Paulus Arajuuri. However, it wasn't the end of problems for Lech. A minute later Djoum fouled Alvarinho and the referee showed him the second yellow card. The guests had to continue the game one man short. Zawisza started attacking bravely and Alvarinho could have changed the result, but both Kadar and Gostomski intervened successfully. The hosts also created chances from corner kicks and in the 32nd minute they turned one into a goal. The ball reached unmarked Barisic and he placed it in the net with a header. The lost goal was a shock to the guests and they focused on offensive right away. Lech could have equalized 4 minutes later when Kedziora sent a center to Marcin Kaminski, but his header missed the goal.
In the 54th minute the team from Poznan had yet another chance. This time it was Zaur Sadajew whose individual action was only stopped by Sandomierski. Pawlowski and Alvarinho tried surprising the other goalkeeper, but they failed. It was Zawisza that had better opportunities to score a goal. In the 60th minute Pawlowski's massive shot was desperately blocked by Kedziora. 6 minutes later Gostomski watched Kaminski clear the ball out of the goal line. The guests had a chance of their own when Gergo Lovrencsics crossed the ball into the penalty area and Kedziora directed the ball towards the goal, however Sandomierski intervened successfully. Only in the end of the match did the game become exciting. Lovrencsics hit the crossbar, and as the ball did not leave the pitch, Zawisza counterattacked and Kedziora had to clear the ball out the goal line. Lovrencsics was forced to defend his goal a moment later and this time it was Lech that counterattacked, but Hamalainen failed to place the ball in the net. In the end Lech did not manage to even equalize and Zawisza collected all three points.
