On Tuesday afternoon, Klaudia Wojtkowiak signed a professional contract with Lech Poznań UAM which will last until June 30th, 2024.
It’s Lech’s third female player to sign a professional contract with the club. Previously, the two defenders – Maja Kuleczka and Zuzanna Sawicka – also reached an agreement with Lech and will stay at the club until June 2024.
“We have been saying repeatedly that the most important objective of our female team is to develop continuously. And here is an example of that – we have signed the third professional contract. We are happy to have another female player commit to the club long term,” explained Tomasz Mendry, Female Football Coordinator.
“Klaudia is an important figure in our squad. She has helped the team advance to a higher division and so far this season, she’s also been performing well. We are hoping she keeps on developing progressively at the right pace,” added Mendry.
In the past, Wojtkowiak used to play for teams such as GKS Dopiewo, UKS SMS Łódź, and KU AZS UAM Poznań. Last season, the midfielder missed just one match. Meanwhile, in the current campaign, she already found the back of the net twice – against UKS Loczki Wyszków (4:0), and Praga Warsaw (15:0).
“It’s a great personal recognition to be among the three female players to sign a professional contract with such a great club. I am happy to have reached an agreement with Lech Poznań and I hope to make it to the top tier together with the club. However, for now, I am focusing solely on the upcoming matches. We have been performing well in the second division and, when looking at our results, the first place is very much within our reach,” highlighted Klaudia Wojtkowiak.
