Lech won the first Lotto Ekstraklasa match 2:1. The footballers from Poznan beat Wisla Plock in an away clash. Lukasz Tralka and Pedro Tiba scored the goals for Lech.
Wisla Plock quickly took control of the match and fired the first goal on target. After a couple of offensive attempts, Lech recovered the ball and managed to build the first scoring chance within a few minutes. Finally, in the 16th minute the team from Poznan scored. Jevtic converted a free kick into a cross into the box and Tralka beat Wisla’s keeper with a header.
The conceded goal resulted in the hosts’ intensified offensive actions. Shortly afterward, Wisla had an opportunity to equalize but Janicki blocked and redirected Warcholak’s attempt. After a couple of minutes, Wisla was awarded with a free kick that they converted into a shot on target but luckily for Lech, Buric intervened successfully. In the closing minutes of the first half, Lech had an opportunity to score the second goal when Tomasik sent a good cross into the box that caused big problems to Wisla’s keeper.
The second half resembled the first part of the match. The hosts looked for opportunities to equalize, especially through set pieces. 15 minutes before the final whistle, Dzwigala came close to scoring for Wisla but Buric intervened successfully once more. However, the goalkeeper made a mistake 3 minutes later. Szymanski crossed the ball into Lech’s box and Merebaszwili redirected it into the goal after Buric left the goal area.
Lech wasn’t satisfied with a draw and kept on looking for a second goal. Shortly before the final whistle, Makuszewski crossed the ball into the box from the right flank where Tiba was positioned and the latter converted the pass into an impressive bicycle kick. Both teams had a few goal-scoring chances in the last couple of minutes but the score remained unchanged and Lech collected 3 league points.
