Just as its been predicted, it was Lech who had control over the game since the beginning. The team from Poznań visited their opponents penalty area often, however, they struggled to create chances. Widzew was waiting for an opportunity to counterattack and theyve been given one in the 20th minute. Hosts had an advantage 4 over 1 but Urdinov wasnt fast enough and Lechs defenders managed to catch up with Macedończyk. 3 minutes later there was another threat to Gostomskis goal but the defenders cleared the ball. Lech had their first accurate shot in the 25th minute but Douglas free kick was too weak to cause any trouble to Wolański. 7 minutes later it was the guests goalkeeper who was tested by Mikita. In the 34th minute the first goal was scored. Douglas sent a cross from a free kick, Teodorczyk hit it with a header and Arboleda had no difficulties placing it in the net from a close distance. 5 minutes later another center of the Scotch defender found Teo but his header was stopped by the crossbar. The team from Poznań had a great opportunity 3 minutes before the halftime but Wolański saved the shots of Hamalainen and Teodorczyk and the result remained 0:1.
The second 45 minutes began in a similar manner and soon Lech was leading with 2 goals. In the 54th minute Linetty sent a great ball to Teodorczyk and the latter beat the goalkeeper with a strong shot under the crossbar. Since the second goal Lech was completely dominating on the pitch yet in the 59th minute it were the hosts who had their chance. Arboleda made a mistake, Visnakovs took advantage of it, raced to the penalty area but his strong shot was inaccurate. In the 61st minute Linetty yet again created a great opportunity for his teammate, this time for Claasen, but the African player sent the ball flying above the goal. In the 70th minute Manuel Arboleda made another mistake and this time his team had to pay the price. Alex Bruno won back the ball and passed it to Kaczmarek who made sure it found the back of the net. 2 minutes later Widzew equalized. Kaczmarek sent a great cross into the penalty area and Visnakovs beat Gostomski with a header. Lech desperately kept on pressing but they did not succeed and the final result remained 2:2.
