Dawid Kownacki rejoiced after Lech qualified to the round of 8. The young forward reassured that the team from Poznan will give it all to play in the final of Polish Cup at the National Stadium once more.
Lech's homegrown player emphasized that the match against Olimpia Grudziadz wasn't an easy one because the rival did its best to surprise everyone and beat the Polish Champions. "We played with a new, changed lineup. Many player got a chance to show themselves to the coach. We knew that it would be a hard match because usually the games against lower-league opponents are tough. It was the match of the season for Olimpia and in addition they were facing the Polish Champion. What's important is that we advanced further, because we want to get even for the last year's final."
Kownacki reassured that the injured he suffered from almost a month ago is long gone and that the 18 year-old is now ready to help the team in the upcoming matches. "I knew the extent of my injury, and therefore I expected to be back soon. I don't feel any pain; otherwise I wouldn't risk it. I am ready to play and I am happy to be able to help the team. There are multiple players missing because of an injury. The fact that I am back, ready to compete, gives the coach more options," explained Kownacki.
