The 29 year-old had been observed by Lech for a long time. "We are signing a defender that we had the opportunity to observe for the past 5 years, also when Volkov represented Partizan Belgrade - the team with which he won two championships and once was placed second in the national competition," emphasized Rutkowski.
Volkov played on the international arena 48 times. The player even represents his national team. "An experienced footballer, known for his bravery and commitment, joins our team. Moreover, Volkov has pretty good goal and assist statistics as for a defender," said Lech's vice-chairman.
The new player is going to join the rest of the team on Saturday. Lech's squad is currently residing in Alhaurin el Grande where the winter grouping is taking place. Volkov is going to wear number 3 on his shirt while competing for the team from Poznan.
