Lech's players began the pre-season in a remarkable way. The first summer sparing game with Victoria Wrzesnia ended with a 9:0 win for the team from Poznan.
Lech's domination was indisputable and unsurprising, considering the gap that separates the two teams. The guests occupied their rivals' penalty area most of the time and attempted to find a way to score through a number of interesting team plays. In the 4th minute Pawlowski led a counterattack, but Gajos, who finished off the action, headed the ball right into the goalkeeper's hands.
4 minutes later the team from Poznan scored the first goal. Tralka recovered the ball and sent a long ball to Pawlowski who redirected the ball towards the further post and into the net. In the 33rd minute, after a series of offensive actions, Lech changed the score again. This time it was Kownacki who converted a well-timed pass from Jozwiak into an individual run that ended with a strong shot just below the crossbar. 5 minutes later the young forward received a long pass from Tralka and beat the goalkeeper again from a short distance.
Lech's coach made a number of substitutions at halftime which included Putnocky's and Nielsen's debut. Bednarek and Formella who have just returned from a loan also received a chance from the coach. Robak, who has been absent for the past months due to a serious injury, finally reappeared on the pitch and in the 50th minute he score the first goal after a series of passes following a corner kick. 3 minutes later Ceesay added another one with a beautiful shot from outside the penalty area that landed in the back of the net.
Formella had a couple of goal-scoring opportunities, but the winger seemed to be unlucky and it wasn't until the 62nd minute that the score changed again, this time thanks to Jozwiak and his flat, precise shot. 10 minutes later Robak added the 7th goal that followed Ceesay's individual run. 6 minutes later the same forward led a team play with Pawlowski that he himself finished off with an accurate shot from a close distance.
Nevertheless, that wasn't the end of the goals. In the 88th minute Pawlowski sent a pass along the goal line that Jozwiak managed to redirect into the net, setting the final score to 9:0.
