On Monday, Krzysztof Bąkowski, Mateusz Skrzypczak and Filip Marchwiński have officially become a part of Lech’s first team. Nawalka announced this decision following the training camp in Belek which the three youngsters participated in. The players’ development is meant to be monitored carefully.
The three mentioned footballers have been training with the first team since December last year. Marchwinski even managed to make his debut in a league clash against Zaglebie Sosnowiec. The 16-year-old scored a goal in his first match for the senior team and became the youngest player to find the back of the net in Lech’s history.
Meanwhile, Bakowski was the youngest participant of the training camp in Belek. The goalkeeper born in 2003 has so far been competing for Older Juniors where he was being trained by Bochinski. In autumn last year, he debuted in Central Junior League and kept a clean sheet in one of the two games he played in. Skrzypczak, the third Academy player, has been representing Lech’s reserves team for the past 6 months and managed to appear on the pitch 13 times.
Coach Nawalka decided to promote these three youngsters to the first team and emphasised that he will continue monitoring all the other Academy players, including Filip Szymczak, Karol Smajdor, and Jakub Kaminski who also went to Turkey with the senior squad. “The rest of the players will remain training in Wronki where the Academy is based. In spring, they will be joining us for individual sessions. In the meantime, I will be monitoring their progress and any decisions about their future will be revealed in the upcoming months,” explained Lech’s coach.
