Three points stay at home. Lech - Gornik Leczna 3:1

In the 15th round of Ekstraklasa Lech Poznan won with Gornik Leczna 3:1. The team from Poznan is currently ranked on the pre-last position and lacks a single point to leave the relegation zone.

The pre-match statistics favored Lech, since the team from Leczna did not win any of the matches they played in Poznan and in addition Gornik never even collected a single point when playing on Lech's stadium! Nonetheless, the opening minutes of the match did not show a definitive domination of any of the teams. Both defense lines seemed solid enough to resist the attacks of the opponent. However, in the 4th minute the audience gathered at INEA Stadium got a reason to rejoice. Gajos was the one who rdirected the ball into the back of the net with a header, while Lovrencsics got himself an assist.

Gornik started attacking more intensively shortly after conceding the goal. Their first good goal-scoring opportunity came about 10 minutes later when Spiaczka placed the ball in the goal, but the linesman raised his flag and thus the equalizer was cancelled. In the following 15 minutes the guests gradually started dominating the match and had a few chances to score. However, neither of Gornik's players managed to pass Lech's defense line, and therefore when the referee whistled halftime, Lech still had the advantage of one goal.

Similarly, it was Gornik that was in possession of the ball most of the time in the beginning of the second half, but Lech defended well, while focusing on counterattacks. Gradually Lech started pressuring Gornik's defense line too. Lovrencsics and Linetty had their goal-scoring opportunities, but both shots were successfully stopped by Rodic.

Gradullay as Lech started regaining control over the play, the hosts came closer and closer to scoring. Around the 65th minute Gornik was forced to play in 10 men. Pruchnik was sent off for the second tactical foul that cost him a yellow, and thus a red card. Lech's advantage changed the play completely. In the 70th minute INEA Stadium exploded again, also thanks to Gajos' goal. This time however it was Linetty that assisted the player with number 14. The fans weren't satisfied with the two goals and called for another one that they eventually saw when Ceesay sent a precise, well-timed cross into the penalty area and Linetty tapped the ball into the net.

Despite the score Gornik did not give up and in the last minute of the match the players scored a goal. Leandro was left unmarked and managed to send the ball past Buric and into the net. The three points collected by Lech make the team from Poznan even closer to finally leaving the relegation zone.
