For the fifth time this season Lech Poznan was beaten. Termalica Bruk-Bet Nieciecza turned out to be better and a loss 1:3 places Lech on the 14th position in the league rank.
The conditions in which the two teams faced each other were extreme due to the heat and constant sunshine, but the hosts began the match better than their rivals. In the 5th minute Buric was forced to leave the goal line to clear the threat, but the opponent recovered the ball and if it wasnt for Paulus Arajuuri, Termalica's offensive action could have ended in a goal.
The hosts gave a warning to Lech, but they focused rather on the defense. Termalica was positioned deeper, waiting for a chance to counterattack. One of such offensive actions ended in a goal for the local team. Plizga sent a cross near the further post, but because Buric failed to catch the ball, Kedziora got a chance to shoot and he placed the ball in the net.
Having scored a goal, Termalice backed up even deeper. Nonetheless, Lech had no idea how to pass its rival's defense line and instead of equalizing, in the 26th minute the team from Poznan conceded another goal. It was Pleva that set the score to 2:0 with a precise shot after being left one-against-one with the goalkeeper.
Lech kept on attacking, but in most cases the offensive actions did not cause many problems to Termalica's defense. Although the hosts had problems leaving their half of the pitch as Lech attacked more aggressively, the team from Poznan failed to score a goal.
After the terrible first half Maciej Skorza decided to make two substitutions. Thomalla and Formella appeared on the pitch instead of Lovrencsics and Dudka. Shortly after the first whistle Thomalla received a good cross from Douglas and sent a header in the direction of the goal, but the ball stopped on the crossbar. Soon after the hosts had a goal-scoring opportunity when Biskup found himself one-against-one with Buric, but this time the goalkeeper did not let the ball pass him.
In the 66th minute Lech finally succeeded in its offensive attacks. Termalica's penalty area turned chaotic, but Formella was in the right place at the right time and he sent the ball flying past the goalkeeper and into the net.
Lech was determined to equalize and remained pressing at its rival, but in the 88th minute they conceded the third goal. Babiarz was the one who erased any hope left among the team from Poznan by setting the result to 3:1 and the stadium in Mielce exploded with joy. The Polish Champion lost yet another league match. As for now Lech has been beaten five times - as many as in the whole previous season. Skorza has 2 weeks to introduce crucial changes, however due to National Teams' groupings, the coach will only work with part of the squad, which makes it even more difficult for Skorza.
