Lech Poznań player Michał Skóraś was named a part of the 26-player squad for the upcoming World Cup in Qatar. The white-and-red will compete in Group C against Mexico, Saudi Arabia, and Argentina.
This current season is the 22-year-old’s best so far. The young winger has 29 appearances on his account, 10 goals, and 3 assists. Skóraś has been also impressing in the Europa Conference League where – if we consider both the qualifiers and the group stage – he scored 6 goals, 4 of which were against Villarreal CF. The Polish player also found the back of the net against Dinamo Batumi (twice) and Austria Wien.
The 22-year-old’s brilliant form was acknowledged by the Polish National Team coach, Czesław Michniewicz. Skóraś received his first call-up for the national squad and made his official debut in a Nations League match against the Netherlands (0:2).
Now Lech’s homegrown player will have an opportunity to make an appearance at the most important football tournament. The Poles will play three matches in the group phase – first, on November 22nd, they will face Mexico (5:00 pm), then 4 days later Saudi Arabia (2:00 pm), and at last, Michniewicz’s squad is going to play against Argentina (November 30th, 8:00 pm).
Apart from Skóraś, the 26-player squad for the World Cup also includes 5 other Lech Poznań homegrown players.
