Lech Poznań’s defender Bartosz Salamon appeared in Lech’s first EURO 2024 group phase match. The Poles ended up losing to the Netherlands 1:2 on Sunday afternoon.
The match held in Hamburg began very well for Michał Probierz’s squad – in the 16th minute, Adam Buksa’s header landed in the back of the Dutch net. However, shortly before halftime, Netherlands caught up with their opponent thanks to Cody Gakpo’s goal and the first half ended in a 1:1 draw.
Both sides had plenty of goal-scoring opportunities in the second half, but only the Dutchmen managed to find the back of the net and they ended up triumphing 2:1 in the first match of Group D. In the next games, the Poles will face Austria (June 21st, 6:00 PM) and then France (June 25th, 6:00 PM).
