Pedro Rebocho will not play for Lech Poznań next season. The Portuguese defender’s contract – which lasts until June 30th, 2023 – will not be extended. “We thank Pedro for those two years at Bułgarska Street. He won the Championship title with the club and in his second season, he played an important role in our journey to the quarterfinals of the Europa Conference League,” said Tomasz Rząsa, Lech’s Sporting Director.
Pedro Rebocho joined Lech Poznań in summer 2021. His debut is something to be remembered – on September 17th, he was a part of the starting line-up against Wisła Cracow (5:0), and the left-back got an assist and a goal in that game. Over the past two years, Rebocho made 60 appearances for the team from Poznań, 38 of those in PKO BP Ekstraklasa, 19 in European competition, and 3 in Polish Cup games. Apart from the goal and the assist in the debut, Rebocho helped his teammates score 10 more times throughout the two seasons.
The left-back’s contract is valid until June 30th, 2023.
“We talked to Pedro and discussed extending the contract, but in the end, together we have reached an agreement that our cooperation would come to an end after this season. The player wants to take another step in his career, and, of course, we respect that. We thank Pedro for those two years at Bułgarska Street. We won the Championship title with the club and in his second season, we played an important role in our journey to the quarterfinals of the Europa Conference League. We are parting ways amicably,” explained Lech’s Sporting Director.
“I will always have a special connection with this club and this place. At this point, I feel that I have done a lot of hard work here, but my mission at Lech has come to an end. Of course, you can always achieve more, and win more trophies, but as a person, I know that I have already brought a lot of value to this team. I will keep on following Lech, rooting for the team, wishing them all the best,” emphasized Rebocho.
The left-back also highlighted his gratitude: “I would like to thank my teammates, the supporters, and the coaches, especially Maciej Skorża with whom I had a special relationship. I can say the same about the Sporting Director and Vice-President Piotr – those three people had given me exactly what I needed most when I moved to Poznań. Of course, I can’t forget the coaching, security, and media staff, as well as all the other employees working for the club. The friendships I have made here will last with me till the end.”
