Pogon Szczecin - Lech Poznan 1:1

In the first league game of the spring round Lech Poznan drew in Szczecin with Pogon 1:1. Arajuuri's  goal in the injury time won the one point.

Coach Maciej Skorza took 20 players to Szczecin, while Djoum and Serafin stayed in Poznan. Gergo Lovrencsics who caught a cold sat on the bench and Dariusz Formella took his place on the pitch. Lech created its first chance in the 2nd minute when Formella turned Ubiparip's pass into a flat shot, however it went next to the post. A minute later the team from Poznan was already losing 0:1. Ricardo Nunes sent a precise center into the penalty area and while Lech's defense seemed lost, Marcin Robak put the pass into the net, reminding the fans from Poznan the last year's match when he scored 5 goals against Lech. Having a one-goal advantage, the hosts went deeper ad focused on defending. Lech dominated most of the time, however the offensive actions did not bring any results. In the 22nd minute the ball sent from a free kick reached Kedziora, however his header was successfully stopped by Janukiewicz. A minute later Formella fell down in the penalty area, but the referee perceived it as diving, and therefore the player saw a yellow card.

The hosts focused on counter attacks they brought good results. 10 minutes before halftime Pogon could have made it 2:0. The team from Szczecin was awarded a free kick which caused chaos in Lech's penalty area. The ball found Robak who was about to score another goal, but he was stopped By his own teammate who stood in the wrong place at the wrong time and the ball rebounded from the forward. Formella attempted to equalize a moment later, however the goalkeeper intervened successfully and stopped the wingers shot from the 11th meter. The hosts had one more opportunity to make it 2:0 before halftime, but after the first 45 minutes the result was stil1 1:0 for Pogon.

The team from Poznan remained trying to get past the rivals' defense. Even the shots from outside the penalty area did not do much good as they were often inaccurate. The clock kept ticking, but Lech couldn't find a way to equalize, or even cause real trouble to their opponents.  Janukiewicz wasn't too busy, until the injury time. In the last minutes of the game Pogon left their half of the pitch and they were surprised with Lech's counter attack, which ended with Arajuuri placing the ball in the net, after he received a great pass from Lovrencsics.
