In the 14th league match of the season, Lech drew 1:1 with Pogon Szczecin. Thomas Rogne scored the one goal for the team from Poznan. Lech Poznan is currently ranked 9th in PKO Ekstraklasa table following this game.
Lech Poznan traveled to Szczecin to face one of the top-ranked league teams after losing two matches in a row. The last time the players from Poznan won an away clash with Pogon was two years ago which made the Saturday match even more important to Lech. Zuraw’s squad performed well in the opening minutes – Tiba and Jozwiak both fired good shots at the goal, but their attempts were stopped by the keeper. Very shortly afterward, Pogon started dominating the game and it took them a few minutes only before they found the back of the net. Spiridinovic’s individual run and a beautiful shot from the 30th meter totally surprised Lech’s defensive line. The remaining minutes of the first half proved that Pogon was in control and they weren’t going to give away the lead too easily.
Lech’s players came on for the second half with a drastically different attitude. Tiba was the one to initiate a flood of offensive attempts. The Portuguese player had a couple of good scoring chances, but he wasn’t precise enough to beat the keeper. Finally, in the 83rd minute, Lech found the back of the net. Jevtic converted a corner kick into a beautiful, precise cross that Rogne easily redirected into the goal. Despite clear efforts to win three points, Lech failed to score again before the final whistle and the match ended with a draw.
