Podbeskidzie Bielsko-Biala - Lech Poznan 0:2

Lech Poznan won with Podbeskidzie Bielsko-Biala 2:0 in an away game. However, Legia collected all three points ahead of the final round too, and therefore Lech remains on the second position in the league table. Dariusz Formella and Kasper Hamalainen scored goal for Lech, both in the second half.

Coach Skorza sent a changed squad to face Podbeskidzie. Lech's players were focused on the offensive since the very beginning. The guests dominated the match and they created their first goal opportunity after a corner kick, however Podbeskidzie's defense cleared the ball out. In the 15th minute Formella's volley caused trouble to the hosts, but once again the defenders intervened successfully. Podbeskidzie had a lot at stake too, as only three points guaranteed them a place in the champions' final group. Mazan and Chmiel tried surprising Lech's defense line, however they did not succeed in placing the ball in the net. Even though the guests dominated, they had trouble passing through Podbeskidzie's solid defense. The hosts caused the most trouble to the team from Poznan following corner kicks and free kicks that were executed by Maciej Iwanski. In the 35th minute Gorskiewicz tried to head the ball into the net, but Gostomski intervened successfully and he started a counterattack. However, Sadajew did not finish the offensive action well. The forward had another chance a moment later, but he failed to score again.

Both coaches made subtitutions at halftime due to a rather unexceptional first half. Ojrzynski sent in Cisse, while Skorza put Hamalainen and Pawlowski on the pitch. However, it was Formella that scored a goal for Lech in the 48th minute. The winger took over the ball following Mazan's unacceptable mistake and sent it past the goalkeeper and into the net. At that moment Lech became the leader of the league. In the 55th minute the team from Poznan was warned when Iwanski sent a soft ball into the penalty area and right on Konieczny's head, however luckily for the team from Poznan the ball hit the crossbar. The hosts were losing, and therefore they began to attack more intensively. Podbeskidzie was dangerous from corner kick and free kick and they had multiple occassions to convert those "dead balls" into an equalizer. However, Lech's defense line did not make mistakes. The guests were rather successful in their attacks too, especially in the 88th minute when Hamalainen received a well-timed pass from Pawlowski and the former calmly placed the ball in the net.
