PC: Miedź Legnica - Lech Poznań 2:0

Lech being the premier league team was a favorite of the game with the first league opponents, howeve,r the pitch only proved the forecasts. In the first 30 minutes Lech couldnt create an chance nor did they cause any threat for Miedź. In the meantime the hosts had four opportunities to score a goal. Zasada cause enormous problems to the team from Poznań. Miedź left back in the 12th minute ran into the penalty area without any difficulties and sent a cross to Madejski whos shot was saved by Gostomski. A minute later, this time from the right flank, Wołczek sent a great cross into the penalty area but Zakrzewski despite not being marked by any defender missed with a header. In the 24th minute Łobodzińskis cross from the corner kick caused chaos in Lechs penalty area. Midzierski hit the ball right into the goalkeeper and Zakrzewski shot the ball above the bar. The last quarter of the match became more balanced, however, no team was able to create any dangerous chance and the result at half time remained 0:0.

At the beginning of the second half Lech took over the initiative and they visited Miedźs penalty area more frequently than in the first 45 minutes. The team from Poznań created their first chance in the 61st minute when Hamalainen, who came on the pitch at half time, sent a cross and the ball fell at Luis Henriquez feet but the Panamanians shot was too weak and right in the center of the goal. 6 minutes later after another pass from Hamalainen Douglas found himself in a great situation but his shot with the right leg was anemic and Ptak had no problems saving it. The hosts had their chance soon after when Burkhardt sent a cross from a free kick but Zakrzewskis shot was slightly inaccurate. In the 74th minute Miedź took over the lead. Szczepaniak used Łobodzińskis pass and gave no chance to Gostomski with a header. 4 minutes later Luis Henriquez set the result. Panamanians intervention after Burkhardts cross was unfortunate enough that he sent the ball into his own goal.  Lech wasnt able to catch up and in this way the team from Poznań was eliminated from the Polish Cup.
