"We've got one aim only - win the league, since we have a squad with a potential to do it," said Dariusz Dudka ahead of the launch of the league campaign.
On Friday Lech will begin the league campaign 2016/17 with a match against Slask Wroclaw. "We did not yet have a squad meeting, but the coach did tell us about our rival's game. The formations are closely packed and it is hard to pass the defense line using the midfield. We will have to play with the wings and do it at a high tempo," explained the defender.
The team from Poznan began the season successfully. A week ago Lech won the Polish Super Cup, having beaten Legia 4:1 in the final. "We kicked-off pretty well. Nevertheless, I believe it is not yet what the coach expects of us. I know he is satisfied with the result, but the league is the real test," emphasized Dudka.
The players regret that Lech doesn't compete on the international, but Dudka admitted that the lack of qualification matches makes it easier to prepare to the league clashes and the season overall.
"We got a bit more time to rest after the season. Then three weeks of unrushed preparations followed. There was no stress ahead of the qualifications to the European competition. We had time and peace of mind. Now we are going to play in the league every week and it gives us time to focus on the tactics and prepare better," explained the footballer.
