16 Lech Poznan players will have an opportunity to wear their national team shirt during the upcoming international break. Meanwhile, another 9 footballers have been called up for training groupings.
During the October international break, 4 national teams will play matches with something at stake. The Polish squad, which includes Maciej Makuszewski, will compete in Nations League against Portugal and Italy. Both games are going to be played in Chorzow.
Meanwhile, Christian Gytkjaer has been called up for the Danish senior squad. It’s the first time the 28-year-old will have a chance to play for his national team since he joined Lech Poznan. In addition, the striker might debut in Nations League against Ireland if coach Hareide gives him an opportunity to play. Denmark will also face Austria in a friendly clash.
Polish U-21 team will too play matches with something at stake. The games against Denmark and Georgia will decide about the qualifications for European Championships. After 6 group matches, the Poles are ranked 2nd in their table. Michniewicz’s squad includes Lech’s youngsters – Kamil Jozwiak, Pawel Tomczyk, and Robert Gumny.
The U-17 Polish team will also participate in the qualifiers for the European Championships. The white-and-red team will face Finland, Luxembourg, and France. Jakub Kaminski, Filip Marchwinski, Jakub Niewiadomski, and Filip Szymczak have been called up for the U-17 Polish national team.
Meanwhile, a couple of other Lech Poznan players will get a chance to compete in friendly games. Milosz Mleczko, Jakub Moder, Michal Skoras, and Tymoteusz Puchacz have joined their U-20 teammates ahead of the Elite League matches against the Czech Republic and the Netherlands. During the previous edition of the tournament, 8 teams played against each other and the Polish side was ranked at the bottom of the table. Therefore, the U-20 footballers are hoping to get a better result this year. All 4 Lech players who have been called up are currently on loan in first-league clubs.
In addition, Bartosz Mrozek, Lukasz Norkowski, and Hubert Sobol have joined the U-19’s. The one-year younger Polish national team has 4 Lech Poznan players in their squad, while the U-15 team has called up 5 academy footballers from Poznan.
