Alan Czerwiński spent the past three seasons at Zagłębie. Interestingly, right-back will get a 'match 18' league debut for Lech Poznań in the clash with… his former club. “The game doesn’t carry any additional weight to me,” reassured Lech's recent addition to the squad.
Right from the start, Alan Czerwiński showed he keeps his feet firmly on the ground and he confirmed it prior to the match against Zagłębie which, according to the player himself, doesn’t arouse many emotions in him. “I approach this match like any other. We want to win, our objective is to get three points, and that’s all I focus on,” explained Lech’s right-back.
However, Czerwiński’s experience and knowledge about Zagłębie Lubin can be crucial to the coaching staff that always tries to decipher the opponents meticulously. “Lech’s coaches and analytics have good knowledge about Zagłębie but, of course, if they do have any questions, I’ll happily answer them; after all, we need to do everything we can to win in Lubin and start the season well. I could tell you Zagłębie’s line-ups from the top of my head,” laughed the right-back.
“Last season, Zagłębie performed very well against teams from the top 8, however, we shouldn't focus on that but rather concentrate on playing offensive football because that’s how we can win,” explained Czerwiński.
The player also reassured that no one from Zagłębie reached out asking for ‘inside information’. “No one called me and from my personal experience, I know that no one will because that’s generally unacceptable, and even if, I wouldn’t provide them with any information,” emphasised the 27-year-old.
