Lech Poznań decided to cut short the loan of the Croatian goalkeeper Marko Malenica from NK Osijek.
During the holiday break, the club has made the final decision to say goodbye to the 26-year-old keeper. Malenica joined Lech Poznań in summer from the Croatian side NK Osijek. The main objective of the transfer was to enhance the goalkeeper rivalry following Mickey van der Hart’s injury which resulted in a 6-month break and rehabilitation for the Dutch player.
Throughout the autumn round, Malenica appeared in one official match only – in an away Fortuna Polish Cup clash with Znicz Pruszków (3:2). In addition, the Croatian also got three appearances for Lech’s B side in second-league games with Hutnik Cracow (6:3), Znicz (1:2) and Śląsk II (2:1). The club from Poznań decided to cut the loan short, hence the deal is going to officially end on January 18th. However, the Croatian keeper won’t be joining Lech for the preparations ahead of the spring round which start on January 7th.
